The Kellog-Briand Pact
President Coolidge has just signed the Kellog-Briand Pact. It is a written agreement outside the Leauge of Nations, stating that war is not the answer to country disputes. America France, and Germany were the first to sign it, although mostly all European countries have all signed it. The prevention of war is important to you as people, because America needs its time to progress and become rich. And our Country relies on other countries to be strong like us with out war. Political Overview
The time period of 1920-1929 is know as one of the most progressive movements in American history. We went right from the Great war to complete recovery and an abundance of success. Although the success was great there was an issue when Harding was in office. His cabinet were friends, and they were doing many embarrassing scandles and unjust things. One was the Teapot Dome scandel[read on "Economical News"]. Also the "Ohio Gang" were his poker friends, while he was in office. One was even convicted of Bribery. The next President was Coolidge. He was very progressive, signing the Kellog-Briand Pact[Above]. He was also the first President to give a political speach, broadcasted on radio. He believed in staying out of foreign conflicts and was a very stong good President. Hoover was the final President in this time period.
